CDT students in years 2–4 will undertake their doctoral project at one of the three participating universities, with collaborative cross-institutional supervision where appropriate. In addition, students will engage in further cohort-centred activities, ranging from training in high-performance computing, student-led seminars and public outreach activities and career-opportunity events. Planned events include:

  • HPC Training in year 2
  • Annual CDT Symposium — an opportunity for year-3 and 4 students to share research successes 
  • Student seminars — informal, student-led series of presentations by year-2 and 3 students
  • Training in teamworking and other transferable skills 
  • Public engagement activities
  • Industry Careers Forum and Industry Club
